Belturn was built so your schedule stays yours. Your shifts, notes and pay stay on your devices and in your own iCloud; nothing about your work life is sent to us. This page tells you exactly what data exists, where it lives, and what we never collect.
Introduction
Belturn is published by Viframe, an independent software studio. "We" or "us" refers to Viframe. This policy applies only to the Belturn iOS app.
Belturn has no accounts and no servers of its own. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to lose.
Data we collect
We collect the minimum needed to sell and support the app:
| What | Why | Where it goes | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purchase history | To unlock Belturn Pro and restore purchases | Apple, RevenueCat | As long as RevenueCat keeps purchase records; Apple keeps its own |
| Anonymous app user ID | To link purchases to this installation (no name, no email) | RevenueCat | Same as purchase history |
| Crash and performance reports | To find and fix bugs: the error and where it happened in the code, device model, iOS and app version, and timing for a small sample of app activity | Sentry (EU data region) | Sentry's standard retention; no personal identifiers or IP address are attached |
Crash reports never contain your shifts, notes, pay, calendar names or roster images. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts or advertising identifier. There is no tracking and there are no ads.
Your schedule
Your calendars, shifts, day changes, notes, overtime and pay rates are stored on your device.
Roster scan
When you scan a work roster (camera, photo, screenshot or PDF), the page is read on your device with Apple's text recognition. Suggestions for what a roster's codes mean come from Apple Intelligence on your device, where available. Roster images are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and the app deletes them when you close the scan.
Alarms, widgets and Live Activities
Shift alarms are set on your device with iOS (AlarmKit on iOS 26, notifications on earlier versions). Widgets and the Lock Screen countdown show your next shifts and alarms from data stored on the device. Anyone who can see your Lock Screen can see what they show.
iCloud backup
Belturn backs up your calendars and preferences to your own iCloud account so nothing is lost when you change phones. This data is stored by Apple under your Apple ID; we cannot see it or access it. You can turn iCloud off for Belturn at any time in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud.
Sharing with a partner
If you invite someone to see a calendar, they receive your schedule only: the calendar's name, your shift types and their times, your rotation, changed days and whether a day is off, vacation or sick leave. They never receive your notes, overtime, pay rates, breaks or alarm settings. Sharing works through Apple's iCloud sharing; it starts only when you send the invitation link yourself, and you can remove a person or stop sharing at any time.
Apple Calendar and exports
If you turn on the Apple Calendar sync (Belturn Pro), your shifts are written to a "Belturn — Shifts" calendar on your device; if your calendars sync with iCloud, Apple syncs it too. CSV, PDF and image exports go only where you send them from the share sheet.
What we do not do
- We do not upload, view or share your schedule or your roster images.
- We do not sell any data or share it with advertisers.
- We do not use your data to train AI models.
Third-party services
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | App Store payments, iCloud backup and sharing, on-device text recognition | apple.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Purchase verification and restore | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Sentry | Crash and performance reports (EU data region) | sentry.io/privacy |
Retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device (and in your iCloud) until you delete it. Settings → Delete my data inside Belturn removes everything the app has stored on this device and its iCloud copy, ends any sharing (people you invited lose access), removes the "Belturn — Shifts" calendar and cancels the app's alarms. Deleting the app also removes the on-device data.
Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Apple: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Your rights
You can ask what data exists about you, ask us to delete the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat, or ask anything else. Email us at hello@viframe.ai and we will respond within 7 days.
